Dr. Charles M. Vest has decided not to stand for re-election to IBM’s Board of Directors at the Company’s Annual Meeting of Stockholders on April 24, 2007.  Dr. Vest has been nominated to stand for election as president of the National Academy of Engineering, and he is expected to begin his term there in July 2007.
