On July 26, 2006, SUPERVALU INC. issued a News Release reporting its
financial results for the fiscal period ended June 17, 2006, updating its Fiscal
2007 earnings guidance and announcing a 10 million share repurchase program. A
copy of the News Release issued by SUPERVALU INC. in connection with this Item
2.02 is attached as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated by reference herein.
