On July 23, 2002, the registrant, Storage Technology Corporation (the
"Company"), announced its results of operations for the fiscal quarter ended
June 28, 2002 in a Press Release, dated July 23, 2002, a copy of which is
attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.

On July 23, 2002, the Company conducted its Second Quarter 2002 Financial
Results Conference Call (the "Conference Call") for the fiscal quarter ended
June 28, 2002. A copy of the script of the prepared remarks of the Company's
Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer, Patrick J. Martin,
for the Conference Call is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.2. A copy of the script
of the prepared remarks of the Company's Corporate Vice President, Chief
