New book "Peculiar People and the Pets Who Love Them" by Justin Moroyan is released, a surreal, illustrated celebration of strangeness

Peculiar People and the Pets Who Love Them by Justin Moroyan has been released worldwide. This 28-page book of whimsical artworks and rhyming poetry is a love letter to all things unusual, introducing loveably odd characters and their equally odd and inseparable four-legged best friends, their pets.

With beautifully detailed illustrations accompanying each character, artist and author Justin Moroyan draws readers into a fantastical and thought-provoking world that reminds readers it’s not just okay, but glorious to be unique! Through this eye-catching work, Moroyan uses dark humor and relatable struggles to reinforce that standing out from the crowd isn’t something to shy away from, and that being a bit abnormal can be a point of pride.

Packed to the brim with symbolism and hidden imagery, readers will enjoy examining the illustrations time and time again, imagining the quirky characters and their pets, and finding deeper meaning in the wry, comedic writing.

As a person on the spectrum, the author has long struggled with feelings of being an outsider. This book serves as both powerful catharsis and an invitation for others to embrace the qualities that may set them apart from what society deems “normal.” By sharing his visions with the world, Moroyan offers a path for readers of all ages to explore the best parts of being peculiar.

Peculiar People and the Pets Who Love Them (Hardcover ISBN: 9798350950434 / Paperback ISBN: 9781736574874) can be purchased through retailers worldwide, including Amazon and Barnes and Noble. About the author:

I'm an illustrator and writer, and I've always loved expressing myself on paper...the ability to work within a space where I can make anything happen has always been a form of therapy for me. It's one of the reasons I love the Fantasy and Sci-Fi genres so much.

"That's the wonderful thing about crayons. They can take you to more places than a starship." (Guinan, Star Trek: The Next Generation)

I share an affinity for dark humor with some of my atypical real-life superheroes, like Tim Burton, Charles Addams, Edward Gorey, and Wes Anderson. Of course, I can't leave out the wondrously enchanting worlds created by Dr. Seuss and Disney, which fertilized my drive to invent worlds of my very own growing up, and still, to this day.

I tend to gravitate towards humorous stories about social ineptitude, mad science, the supernatural, and wonderfully addictive, perfectly imperfect, B-movie-like humor and exaggerated characters. I love diving down the rabbit hole of my mind and exploring strange new worlds.

"All we can do, Scully, is pull the thread and see what it unravels." (Fox Mulder, The X-Files)
