Sisense Unveils Public Preview of Compose SDK for Fusion, Empowering Developers to Build Insights-Driven Products

Compose SDK for Fusion is a flexible developer toolkit that allows developers to embed analytics and create insights-driven experiences in a code-first, scalable, and modular way

Sisense, an analytics platform provider that empowers thousands of companies to build and embed analytics into data products, today unveiled the public preview of Compose SDK for Fusion. Compose SDK for Fusion is a flexible development toolkit that gives developers and product leaders tools to embed context-aware analytics in a code-first, scalable, and modular way, which accelerates the development process, reduces maintenance overhead, and saves valuable time compared to coding analytics from scratch. With over 15 years as a leader in embedded analytics, offering developers full access to their battle-proven APIs marks the beginning of a new, developer-first era for Sisense, with more developer-centric offers coming in 2024.

According to Gartner®, “to support the accelerating pace of innovation and change, businesses will prioritize modular applications that deliver their functionality as API/event-first business components.” Gartner predicts that “by 2025, 60% of new SaaS designs will support both the UI-first and API-first access, making preparedness for composability a common cloud application trait.” Also, “by 2025, 60% of the new custom business applications will be built using reusable business services via a shared curated component catalog or marketplace.”1

"Composability is not just a buzzword; it's the frontier of modern application development," says Ariel Katz, CEO at Sisense. "We believe that this new era of composable modern apps is fundamentally changing how applications are developed and delivered. Agile and modular, these apps seamlessly integrate insights data and operations at their core. At Sisense, we've been a leader in embedded analytics, and Gartner has recognized us as Magic Quadrant visionaries for the past six years. Now, we're evolving our battle-proven analytics platform to be developer-first, enabling true data insights app composition, all while maintaining our existing low and no-code capabilities. We're committed to this evolutionary journey and plan rapid advancements in our offerings in the coming months. To ensure we meet the needs of a diverse range of analytics builders, we're prepared to support the full spectrum—from no-code enthusiasts to seasoned developers, from bespoke internal apps to the most demanding customer-facing apps—thereby maintaining our leadership in the ever-changing landscape of embedded analytics within modern apps."

“Compose SDK for Fusion accelerates time to value with a modular, flexible, API-first approach built on the foundation of a complete componentized architecture. Today's developers seek greater control and integration that aligns with their unique development practices and CI/CD pipelines. This has ignited a surge in demand for developer-first analytics,” said Ayala Michelson, Chief Product Officer at Sisense. “We help developers unleash their creativity, so they can give their customers decision-making confidence through insights when and where they need them.”

Designed for developers, Compose SDK offers the following benefits:

  • Dev-first approach: Enables developers to build analytical experiences into their products with intuitive components, in code, while benefiting from robust documentation, detailed examples, and helpful tools.
  • Freedom to use existing tech stack: SDK libraries built to work with the tools, frameworks, and development environments already in use.
  • Accelerated development time and reduced maintenance burden: Powers faster development with components purpose-built for analytics, including querying, charting, and data exploration.

“We’re absolutely loving Compose SDK right now. Up until now, we felt constraints in making an embedded analytics solution really become an integral part of our product. We started an internal product proof of concept to make our end users the true builders of critical widgets and dashboards, but felt limited in what we could customize using pre-built widgets. We switched to Compose SDK and it has allowed our team to focus on building better data models rather than dashboard design,” said Eric Typaldos, Co-Founder and CTO of Hive. “We’ve been impressed with the high-quality native components and documentation. It allows us to envision a world of possibilities which puts our users in control. The most exciting thing about the developer experience has been the fact that Compose SDK is built with modern, high-quality tooling that makes it a joy for our developers to work on top of.”

“As a worldwide leader and innovator of advanced cybersecurity solutions and managed security services, Sophos delivers real-time information sharing on its cloud-native Sophos Central platform to help organizations stay protected against advanced threats with easy-to-manage security tools,” said Russell Humphries, vice president of product management at Sophos. “Sisense Compose SDK for Fusion enables our engineering team to work with greater velocity and efficiency in building customizable Sophos Central dashboard visualizations for users to effortlessly drill into potential threats for analysis.”

Compose SDK for Fusion demo code is now available for developers to preview in Sisense’s GitHub Monorepo. For more information about Compose SDK for Fusion and Sisense, please visit Sisense.com.
