Auction of "Magic City" Set Designs, Props & Other Miscellaneous Items

PRLog - Sep. 27, 2013 - HALLANDALE, Fla. -- Auction of the Set Designs, Props and Other Miscellaneous Items – to take place in a series of Live and Online Auctions beginning Wednesday, October 2nd, 2013.

J. Sugarman Auction Corp will conduct the two day Live Auction on Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th, 2013 starting both days at 11am at the Production Studio located at 3663 NW 21st Street, Miami, FL 33142. J. Sugarman Auction Corp will run the Online Auction, with selected items being auctioned each day starting on Wednesday, October 2nd at 12pm EST and will run through Tuesday, October 8th, 2013.

“Magic City” was set in the enchanted Miami Beach of the 1950’s, shortly after the Cuban Revolution. Miami Beach was “THE” place to be in the 1950’s for all the high society people - from famous singers & entertainers to the government officials as well as the CIA.The main character, Ike Evans, owned one of Miami’s most glamorous & luxurious hotels, the Miramar Playa Hotel, where many of the show's scenes were shot.

Elaborate Set Designs, Props and other Miscellaneous Items are to be sold by absolute auction.

Most items being sold can be found in at least one of the episodes filmed during its two year run. Many of the items are rare vintage pieces are collectibles even if they were not from a hit show. Some of the collectible items include a jukebox, cigarette machine, candy machine, telephones, bicycles, refrigerator, TVs, and loads of décor, all from the 1950’s era.

“These pieces are from the nostalgic 1950’s era – they are incredible and are worth a great deal even if they weren’t from the show,” says Scott Grasso, President of J Sugarman Auctions. “I think all the winning bidders are going to walk away with astounding Mid-Century pieces. There are fantastic finds here.”

Fans and bidders will be able to add a prop to their home that is functional, to use as décor, or just as a conversation piece. Some of the prominent show items included in this auction range from the Miramar Playa Valet Keys to the Couches in the Lobby of the Miramar Playa Hotel. More distinguishable pieces would include the Ben Diamonds Desk, Ike Evans Patio Furniture, Ike Evans Living Room Furniture, The Atlantis Bar Bronzes, as well as Bel Jaffe’s Chainsaw.

There will also be 3 cars in the auction 1956 Ford Fairlane- burgundy, 1956 Ford Fairlane- teal and white – last seen on the show driven by Butterball and the 1956 Chevy Bellaire – black and white which was Vincent’s car (it has a bullet shattered window).

Many of the key items you see in the scenes were shot in the Atlantis Bar, The Coffee Shop, The Pool Lounge Area, the Miramar Playa Hotel Lobby will be auctioned either at the Live Auction or one of the Online Auction days.

There will be several thousand items being sold to the highest bidder throughout the week. This is a great opportunity to own a piece from the vintage era of the 1950’s enchanted Miami Beach and a great American drama show.
