Las Vegas-based auction house to offer 1,200 lots of antique firearms, vintage toys, rare coin-ops, and much more during live, two-day event
PRLog - Dec. 17, 2013 - LAS VEGAS -- Victorian Casino Antiques (VCA), one of America’s preeminent, family-owned auction houses, will kick of 2014 with a multi-day auction at its Las Vegas showroom Jan. 18 and 19, 2014, beginning at 9 a.m. each day. In addition to a wide variety of vintage toys, rare coin-operated machines, retro gas and oil memorabilia, classic cash registers and fine art, VCA will also put a selection of antique pistols and rifles on the auction block for the first time in its history. In total, more than 1,200 lots will be up for bid during the two-day event.

The collection of vintage firearms up for bid includes a W.R. Pape English .22-caliber single-shot rook rifle from the late 1800s, featuring an octagon barrel and checkered grip design, in terrific condition. Another fine rifle that will be available is “The Gun That Won the West,” a Winchester Model 1873 circa 1888, bearing a 20-inch barrel but retaining the 1873 configuration, plus a leather carrying sling case. There are also several rare pistols in the auction, including a Spanish copy of a .38-caliber, six-shot, single-action Colt revolver with a 5.5-inch barrel.

Of course, the hallmark of VCA’s legendary auctions is the great selection of antique coin-operated machines, and the January event is no slouch in that area. One such find is an extremely rare (only two known to exist!) one-cent Fey “Finger Striker” cast aluminum countertop strength tester from 1932. Cast Aluminum Counter Top Strength Tester. Another amazing item is a five-cent Mills Novelty Co. double “Violano Virtuoso,” with self-playing piano and dual violins from the early 20th century. And retro style enthusiasts will go ga-ga over a beautiful, mint-green Dr. Pepper “Roulette” bottle vending machine from the 1940s, in working order with a key.

The entire auction catalog filled with many more items including classic toy vehicles, neon signs and slot machines can be viewed online at http://www.vcaauction.com, where bidders can also register for live or absentee bidding. On-site previews begin Jan. 2, 2014 at VCA’s Las Vegas gallery from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday, or on an appointment basis by calling 702-382-2466.
