Caritas Manila chooses new crowdfunding platform to accelerate Haiyan (Yolanda) relief efforts in the Philippines.
PRLog - Jan. 10, 2014 - MANILA, Philippines -- Caritas Manila has partnered with 48Bricks and Sitting Cat Productions to increase its fundraising efforts for the Philippines in light of the disastrous Typhoon Haiyan. 100% of the funds raised will directly benefit the rebuilding efforts in the hardest hit areas in the Philippines.

48Bricks, a new technology startup, is providing its crowdfunding platform and campaign management, while Sitting Cat Productions is coordinating media and sponsor contacts. The 48Bricks platform allows Caritas to generate unparalleled viral reach while at the same time creating mindshare for the cause – a unique formula that not only creates thousands of donors but at the same time creates an ever-growing crowd of fundraisers to fuel the campaign.

Father Antonio Pascual, Executive Director of Caritas Manila says, “With 48Bricks’ technology, we’re breaking new ground with this campaign. Not only are we finding new donors but we’re creating an army of fundraisers who will help us keep this campaign going for as long as necessary. Everybody can get involved at www.bricksforhope.com.”

Michael Jaschke, CEO of 48Bricks Inc. states “We’re thrilled about the opportunity to help Caritas Manila with its fundraising. Our next-generation technology is as much about grabbing mindshare for the cause as it is about raising funds. Our mission is to create lasting movements for change, not just another type of fundraiser.”

48Bricks and Sitting Cat Productions are donating 100% of their fees to Caritas Manila. The campaign is planned to last for two months. During that time the team plans to create an unprecedented viral fundraising campaign enhanced through social media and press.

Sibyl Santiago, President of Sitting Cat Productions: “We use networks of tastemakers to spread the word and get people to join the cause. Social media had the power to overturn regimes – we use it to unite the good in people and provide relief to those in need.”
