Mr. Chowna Mein, Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Colloborates with Mr. Madhukar Sanneerappa, Neodocto’s Chief Executive Officer and Global President in Itanagar, capital of Arunachal Pradesh, India.India is the fourth country in the world to record highest malaria deaths as per World Health Organization. Manhattan, New York, 23rd April 2018: Mr. Chowna Mein, Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh full heartedly welcomed Mr. Madhukar Sanneerappa, Neodocto’s Chief Executive Officer and Global President in Itanagar. He felt privileged to meet the President who has already collaborated with other north eastern states like Sikkim, Meghalaya and Assam. He discussed the strategies that could be deployed in Arunachal Pradesh to eradicate malaria and happily collaborated with Neodocto Foundations to Eradicate Malaria from his state.
Mr. Madhukar and Mr. Chowna Mein spent about 4 hours in an extended meeting to discuss the blue prints of the project. Mr. Chowna Mein acknowledged the initiative and pledged that he would not keep any stone unturned to make this a reality.
Mr. Chowna Mein is a 67-year young Indian politician who has dedicated his last 3 decades for public service and accordingly has gained tremendous respect from the people of Arunachal Pradesh. He has served the people in various designations in different fields like the Education Ministry, RWD ministry, Finance and planning ministry. He has undertaken many national and international tours to share the cultural values of Arunachal Pradesh, especially his travel to Ottawa in Canada was a remarkable one in 2012.
According to the WHO malaria report in 2013, India contributes 52% of the total malaria cases of south east asia, which accounts to 1.3 million cases. Due to India’s densely populated and geographical distribution, 95% of the population is at risk of infection. Malaria transmission rates are recorded high in rural areas with 90-95% and is < 5–10% in urban areas.
As per a recent report published in 2014, by Srinivas Rao Mutheneni et al, Arunachal Pradesh comprises 15 districts with 91 primary health centers (PHCs) and 28 community health centers (CHCs) that have a facility for diagnosis and treatment of malaria. They found that from 2006 to 2012, malaria incidences were really high in the months, June, July and August of every year.
