Cummings Graduate Institute Celebrates Founders Day

By: PRLog
PHOENIX - Oct. 17, 2018 - PRLog -- Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Studies (CGI) is pleased to announce and celebrate Founders Day on October 20, 2018. CGI, a private nonprofit online institution, was founded on October 20, 2014 in the state of Arizona and welcomed their first incoming cohort of DBH students in June 2015. As the only university in the world focused exclusively on education in the growing field of integrated behavioral healthcare, CGI takes pride in celebrating the innovative vision of their founders  on the anniversary of their incorporation, hereby known as Founders Day.

October 20, 2018 marks the four exciting years of growth and achievement and innovation in integrated behavioral healthcare education for CGI. Students, alumni, faculty, staff, board members, and supporters of CGI are invited to join in the "virtual" festivities on Founders day.

Show your love for CGI by donating $4 in honor of their 4th birthday. All donations will contribute to the scholarship fund defraying tuition costs for qualified current and future Doctor of Behavioral Health students at the university. Founders Day party favors, including digital shareables, wallpapers, videos, and more, are available to the CGI community at https://cummingsinstitute.com/foundersday/.

When asked about how a small donation makes a great impact, Dr. Cara English, DBH and CEO of Cummings Graduate Institute replied, "Donating to CGI is a direct investment in its extraordinary students, who give back to their communities, conduct innovative, applied research in integrated healthcare, and are passionate about changing the way the world experiences healthcare. We're so grateful to our donors and benefactors – no matter how big or small the amount."

About the Founder
Dr. Nicholas A. Cummings is a visionary who, for half a century not only was able to foresee the future of professional psychology, but also helped create it. A former president of the American Psychological Association (APA) as well as its Divisions 12 (Clinical Psychology) and 29 (Psychotherapy), he formed a number of national organizations in response to trends. Since organized psychology resisted these inevitable changes, Dr. Cummings blazed the way, expecting others would follow. He launched the professional school movement by founding the four campuses of the California School of Professional Psychology that established clinicians as full-fledged members of the faculty. As chief of mental health for the Kaiser Permanente health system in the 1950s, he wrote and implemented the first prepaid psychotherapy contract in the era when psychotherapy was an exclusion rather than a covered benefit in health insurance.  Presently, Dr. Cummings resides in Reno, Nevada with the one love of his life, Dorothy Mills Cummings. Together on February 5, 2018 they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
