MyCreditCounselor.net Helps Struggling Private Student Loan Borrower Negotiate 30% Settlement With KeyBank

MyCreditCounselor.net, a professional private student loan negotiation company operated by a NACCC Certified Student Loan Counselor, has recently negotiated a 30% settlement for a private student loan borrower. Jenna Harner had $43,000 outstanding on her loan when the lender, KeyBank, increased the monthly payments to an unsustainable $1,000 a month, despite Jenna having never missed a previous payment. KeyBank then denied Jenna any option to lower the payments and insisted that the payments should be made to the new amount, despite there being no reasonable explanation for the increase, and after being informed that she simply could not afford them.

Feeling like she had no power over the situation, Jenna exhausted all of her communication options with the lender, only to be met with representatives informing her that there was nothing they could do to lower the payments and she would have to pay them or face default. After the loan defaulted, Jenna researched which steps she could take. Upon finding several informative articles by the owner of MyCreditCounselor.net (Andrew Weber), she promptly contacted him for advice.

Following discussions between Andrew Weber and Jenna about the unresolved and stressful situation with her private student loan lender, Andrew made it clear that he had previous experience with this lender and was confident he could arrange a reasonable settlement of the defaulted loan. He began intensive negotiations with KeyBank which resulted in a 30% settlement offer, which she took.

Claiming that the daily phone calls stopped immediately after agreeing to let Andrew take over negotiations on her behalf, Jenna was relieved that a resolution was found quickly and without any further stress.

She had this to say about her experience with KeyBank and MyCreditCounselor.net: "Mr. Weber kept me informed every step of the way while negotiating. The process went very quickly and Andrew Weber was able to negotiate a 30% settlement with the bank."

She continued: "The stress of defaulting was making me sick. As soon as I saw the letter from the bank agreeing to Mr. Weber's negotiated amount it was as if a great weight was lifted off of me. I felt the negotiation charge for the service was well worth it. I never thought I would be out from under this student loan debt. Without Andrew Weber's help, I would still be struggling under the mental stress of the situation as well as the financial stress. I could not have asked for a better outcome."

Andrew Weber is proud to have been able to, yet again, guide another borrower through the arduous process of private student loan settlement. Speaking about the negotiation, he said: "This was one of the best settlements I’ve negotiated this year. We put in place a specific custom strategy to achieve the best outcome with this lender."

In the private student loan world, two of the largest private lenders are Navient and Sallie Mae. For those wishing to find out more about loan forgiveness, and in particular Sallie Mae and Navient student loan forgiveness can read a very helpful blog article here.
