Simply Branded has donated a logo design package to Drowsy Drivers, the winning team of BioHack 2019. BioHack is a 12-hour health and medicine-themed hackathon hosted at the University of California, Riverside. The event is a beginner-friendly and multidisciplinary hackathon that gives students an opportunity to create innovative and personalized solutions that could help save lives in the future with their projects. During BioHack, students form teams to collaborate, attend workshops to learn about new technologies and network with industry partners.
As a leader in the marketing and design industry, Simply Branded sponsored BioHack and has donated a logo design package to the winning team, Drowsy Drivers. The team created a program to detect user awareness while driving through images taken of the driver’s face while driving. MATLAB then isolates the eyes from the pictures taken and uses sophisticated processes to determine whether the user’s eyes indicate signs of drowsiness. The program then notifies the user that their eyes are closed to alert them before an accident occurs.
