Erney Law was founded by Robert D. Erney, focusing on the plaintiff's personal injury law cases. The firm established itself in Columbus, Ohio, offering a variety of legal solutions for all kinds of clients. Recently, the founder of the firm has been accepted into the elite American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). It is the latest in a long line of signs that demonstrate the lawyer's natural ability to see trials through to a positive conclusion. The ABOTA is seen as an exclusive group in the legal field, with only 7,600 lawyers across the US being invited to it.

What is the ABOTA?
The ABOTA is an invitation-only group where members must have tried at least 10 civil jury trials to conclusion. It focuses on the preservation and promotion of the Seventh Amendment, which guarantees the right to civil jury trials. The association was formed in 1958 with the core mission of fostering improvement in the ethical and technical standards of practice in the legal profession. All members must follow a strict Code of Professionalism and Principles of Civility before they are accepted into the group.
“Honored to be part of this select group”
Mr. Erney has expressed his sheer delight in being made a member of this prestigious group. Upon receiving the news, he stated that "ABOTA is one of the nation's most effective organizations in championing the ethics, professionalism, and principles of the legal profession." He went on to add that he is "honored to be part of this select group."

It represents another big step in the long journey that Mr. Erney has taken during his legal career. Mr. Erney represents injured victims in all Ohio and Federal Courts and is also the President of the Columbus Bar Association. His inclusion in the ABOTA will go alongside his memberships at the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Ohio Association for Justice, and the Central Ohio Association for Justice.

Prior to starting Erney Law, Mr. Erney graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. This was the final step in his educational pathway, adding to the undergraduate degree he attained from Ohio Dominican University.
