Teen opens a small online business that supports mental health organizations

Pompano Beach, Oct 26, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Shavinda Nagapen, a 17-year-old student in Florida's sunshine state, has launched his own business that supports mental health organizations and charities alike. 

With his parents' support, Shavinda Nagapen launched his website intact with blog posts about his personal experience and two major categories in his newly opened shop. 

Shavinda Nagapen offers a wide range of Apparel and Accessories. In his apparel store, 40% of the revenue supports mental health organizations and funding mental health programs for those less fortunate. The accessories shop provides 10% of the revenue earned towards supporting mental health organizations and funding mental health programs for those less fortunate. 

Shavinda Nagapen is currently in the works of writing his own book, which is set to be published in late 2022 titled "Health Over Success".

Shavinda Nagapen suffers from anxiety and panic attacks himself. He's currently stable and doing exceptionally well. Shavinda openly expresses, "Dr.Sam is like my second mom, that saved my life.". 

Dr.Samantha Saltz is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist practicing in South Florida. She serves as a voluntary assistant professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

She was an Area V award winner, received the humanitarian award, the senior research award, the Elliot Stein Award, and several other honors. She is extensively published both in academic journals and local newspapers. She has co-authored a chapter in Kaplan and Sadock, which is one of the most prestigious textbooks of psychiatry.

Shavinda believes that anyone can make a difference and strive for continued excellence. He wants everyone to be happy and break the stigma against mental health. 

Shavinda says, "This is the only way right now that I can give back to society in terms of helping others that suffer from a mental health condition. But don't worry, when I am older - I will do more!". 

So far, Shavinda has received over 100 orders on his store with apparel and accessories combined and is only expected to rise.
