CHICAGO, IL: Distinguished Chicago author, entrepreneur, and business strategy specialist Darlene Ziebell has launched an insightful animated video as an innovative way to offer entrepreneurs a vital business lesson. Based on an Aesop fable called “The Man, The Boy and the Donkey,” Ziebell’s animation entitled “How Not to Start A Startup” creatively illustrates the great importance of being careful who you take advice from and the pitfalls associated with trying to please everybody while running your business.

Ziebell’s creative video parody will be featured on her website and is one of the numerous initiatives she has launched to highlight her business coaching practice. She was inspired to create the animation from reading the fable a long time ago when it was presented to her as a business story and thought it would be a neat idea to repackage it as an animated cartoon to teach the same lesson in a more creative way.

“The moral of the story is that if you listen to just anybody and do what everybody tells you, your business is going to fail,” said Ziebell. “So, the lesson learned is that when you select a business consultant or advisor, do your due diligence and make absolutely sure they know what they’re doing before you hire them.”

Ziebell’s many initiatives to introduce her business coaching practice already include a book, podcast, and giveaway guide encompassing important lessons that new business owners and entrepreneurs should know to prevent them from running into unforeseen problems while running their businesses.

With an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, as well as having climbed to the top of business startup success numerous times throughout her career, Ziebell wants to use her experience and knowledge to help other entrepreneurs and startup businesses avoid the same pitfalls she has encountered over the course of her career.

“What I consistently find with small businesses and entrepreneurs is that they don’t have a real strategy,” noted Ziebell. “Many of them know that they need to proficiently handle certain segments, such as marketing or accounting, but they don’t have a real strategy of encompassing all of the important segments of running a business or who’s going to handle those segments. To be successful you really need a comprehensive yearly strategy to address every segment of the business and make a real effort to foresee the potential pitfalls associated with each segment.”

Mentoring business owners in many different industries, Ziebell specializes in helping business startups develop the skills they need to create a sustainable business. Her business coaching practice entails creating strategies for all the main areas of running a business, including financial, legal, marketing, accounting, and overall planning. With over 865,000 new startups launching in the United States every year, and with only 15% of those startups surviving after five years, her business skills are in high demand.

Ziebell offers several different coaching session options on her website depending on the needs of her clients and the stage the business is in. To view “How Not to Start A Startup” or to book a coaching session, simply visit the starting a business training page of her website here.
