PISD Recieves $500 K Grant For New Arts Center

Local business and comunity bloggers in Plano are spreading the that George Robinson, who passed away on October 19, 2020, has left a grant of $500K to the Plano ISD for the construction of a new fine arts center. More information about the grant can be found in an article published on one such local business's blog belonging to an area dental practice.

The sum was granted by the late George and Lynore Robinson to the Plano ISD for the express purpose of building the Robinson Fine Arts Center for the school district. According to an article by Community Impact, Senior Executive Director at Plano ISD Education Foundation Jamee Jolly announced at a Plano ISD board meeting that the namesakes of the Robinson Fine Arts Center gifted them $500,000. This sum was the last gift that George Robinson gave before he passed away.

Another article published by the Dallas Morning News also shed some light on this event. The article discussed an announcement made by the Plano ISD regarding a fundraising campaign to carry on the legacy that George Robinson left behind by providing additional monetary assistance for operating costs. Those who wish to provide financial assistance may do so through the Plano ISD website. They may also choose to contact Jamee Jolly directly.

Meanwhile, the comunity blogger at Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental expresses their full support of PISD and commends the generosity of the late Robinsons. Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental is led by Plano native and Plano High School attendee Dr. Bobby Jivnani, DDS. Dr. Jivnani earned a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Bachelor of Arts in economics at the University of Dallas. He then went on to attend Baylor College of Dentistry where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He decided to serve as a dentist in his hometown of Plano (where he inherited his practice from a former professor with more than 30 years of dentistry experience). Even though he has already earned his doctorate, Dr. Jivnani continues to put in numerous hours to study and keep up with the latest advances in dentistry.

Dr. Jivnani is an active member of the Dallas County Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He also gives back to the community by volunteering at dental societies and joining dental missions all over the world.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental has a practice philosophy of providing excellent dental care by using conservative procedures to restore their patients’ confidence and smile. They offer various dental services and dental care to adults and children as young as six months old. Their services include all general dentistry procedures (such as deep cleaning and wisdom teeth extractions) as well as cosmetic dentistry procedures and restorative dentistry procedures.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental has received great reviews for their services. Sara Bonnet says in a 5-Star Google review, “I first came here about four years ago when I had an abscess in my tooth. I could not pay for the appointment, and they worked with me and provided me with a payment plan so I would no longer be in pain. I love coming to visit here. I walk away not traumatized, as I used to with my old dentist. Even my daughter loves coming here. She actually squeals with excitement whenever I tell her she has to come to the dentist. This place was actually recommended to me by my sister who had been coming here for about a decade. The fact that the staff has been here long before I even arrived tells you a lot about people they are. I love that if I have an appointment at 8, I am seen at 8. They don't overbook and leave me sitting in a waiting room. The facility is always clean, everyone's really friendly and the prices are decent. They also work with both my private insurance and my daughter's CHIP.”

Ashley Marie Eckstein also says in another 5-Star Google review, “Dr. Jivnani and his entire staff are wonderful! They may not advertise as a pediatric dental practice, but they have gotten my 4 and 6-year-old to actually love going to the dentist! The 6-year-old had to basically have a root canal done when she was 4, and I was amazed at how they made the process so kid friendly! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this practice. We also adore his dental partner, Dr. Thirta (I’m sure I’m spelling her name wrong!). My daughter actually asks when she gets to go back to see Dr. Thirta again. Pre-COVID, she used to greet us with a big smile and a hug.”
