These maternal-fetal medicine specialists work together with a multidisciplinary team of pediatric surgeons, pediatric medical subspecialists, and generalist OB/GYNs in the management and consultation of high-risk pregnancies.

Alongside his clinical roles, Dr. Ogburn serves as a Clinical Professor within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jacobs School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences of the University at Buffalo.

His training and academic career have given him experience in a number of organizations and cultures that can be useful in designing, building, and managing complex systems of population-based perinatal care. Most recently, he served as the Clinical Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sidra Medical and Research Center, Qatar (2013-2016); the Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sidra Medical and Research Center, Qatar (2013-2016); a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stony Brook University School of Medicine (2001-2013); and as the Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stony Brook University School of Medicine (2001-2013).

Academically, Dr. Ogburn earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1970 and his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in 1973. Upon graduation, he went on to complete his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in 1978, and his fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1980.

With years of experience, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology & maternal-fetal medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women's health.
