This is the ninth book Harbinger has authored. The book was written with the aim in mind to shed light on the untold and remarkable contributions of Viola Schmitt, a brilliant mathematician, and her husband Otto Schmitt, during World War II. It highlights their unwavering dedication, perseverance, and love for each other, as they worked together to develop the M.A.D. (Magnetic Anomaly Detector) system. A groundbreaking technology that played a crucial role in winning the Battle of the North Atlantic. There's also particular excitement about this launch because by bringing Viola's story to the forefront, prestige is added to the often-overlooked contributions of women during wartime and in scientific endeavors. It emphasizes the importance of inclusivity, equality, and breaking gender barriers, as Viola defied societal expectations and became an integral part of a top-secret laboratory despite the prevailing norms of the time. She was the first and only woman accepted into this WW2 military secret laboratory.

M.A.D. Scientists--A Love Story sets its main focus as Viola fearlessly leads the field team that tested the M.A.D. system, even facing life-threatening situations such as a near plane crash and an encounter with German spies. Despite the strains on their marriage and challenges to their professional reputations, Viola and Otto persevered, driven by their love for their country, their passion for science, and their devotion to each other.. Readers will likely find a particular interest as the tale of Viola and Otto Schmitt serves as a testament to the indomitable spirit and unwavering determination of individuals who, regardless of gender or societal expectations, rise above challenges to make a lasting difference in the world. Their legacy lives on, inspiring future generations to embrace their passions, pursue knowledge, and strive for greatness. The book's cover art was created by Steve Womack and M.A.D. Scientists--A Love Story is being released by Insights on Innovation.

T H. Harbinger's background as a scientist helped shape the creation of the book His insights on the technical and management challenges of innovation provided the needed understanding to bring this story to life as told through the lives of the leading characters.

When asked about why he wrote the book, Harbinger stated: "Many scientists have made tremendously important contributions to society, yet many have not had their stories told out loud."

Harbinger hopes that the book will encourage everyone, especially young adults, to appreciate the importance of science and pursue a career to improve the livelihood of humankind. This positive outlook from the author is certainly a testament to his optimism, considering some of the mishaps during its creation. At one point, the story stalled until suggested by a fan of the writer, the viewpoint of the enemy be included. The ever-changing conflict between measures and countermeasures illustrates not just the nature of a successful development, but also reflects the everyday emotional relationships between husband and wife, colleagues, and opponents.

In a recent interview, the author made a point of thanking Professor Nancy Blake of the University of Illinois Comparative Literature Department for her part in the creation of the book, saying: "As with most projects, there are fantastic people who have helped create this story. This story is as much theirs as mine."
