Authorities respond to Atlanta building that houses Israeli Consulate General, several injured

Several people were injured at an Atlanta building that houses the Israeli Consulate General, Atlanta police said Friday afternoon.

Several people were injured Friday afternoon outside the building that houses the Israeli Consulate General in Atlanta, the Atlanta Police Department confirmed to Fox News Digital. 

The midtown Atlanta office building houses the Israeli Consulate General, among other offices. 

Atlanta police responded to the scene as well as the FBI and ATF.

A backpack and what appeared to be burned items were seen outside the building, FOX 5 reported.

Police responded to the incident around 12:39 ET, police said. 

A police press conference is expected sometime Friday.
