BONSO ELECTRONICS REPORTS APPOINTMENT OF THE MANAGING DIRECTOR OF ITS
GERMAN SUBSIDIARY


TORTOLA, British Virgin Island, August 21 /GLOBE NEWSWIRE/ -- Bonso Electronics
International, Inc. (Nasdaq: BNSO) a designer and manufacturer of sensor based
and communications products, today announced the appointment of the managing
director of Korona Haushaltswaren Verwaltungs GmbH (Korona hereafter), its
German subsidiary.

In order to strengthen the operations in the German subsidiary, the company
reported that Mr. George D. O'Leary has been appointed as Managing Director of
Korona and Korona's Polish subsidiary, Korona Polen, on June 20, 2008, to
replace Mr. Klaus W. Reitz. This change will enable Korona to recover from a
loss situation. Mr. O'Leary was the past President and CEO of the company, and
his experience will be a tremendous asset for the company's business growth in
Europe.
