Item 1.01. Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement.
On August 9, 2013, IRET Properties, a North Dakota Limited Partnership ("Borrower") and a subsidiary of Investors Real Estate Trust ("the Company") and First International Bank & Trust ("Lender") entered into an amendment (the "Amendment") to the Loan Agreement dated August 12, 2010 between Borrower and Lender (the "Loan Agreement") to extend the time period in which the Lender may call for the non-renewal of the Loan Agreement, from August 12, 2013 to October 31, 2013, and to restate the definition of "Property(ies)" as used in the Loan Agreement. The Amendment was effective as of August 9, 2013. The foregoing summary of the provisions of the Amendment is qualified in its entirety by reference to the text of the Amendment, which is filed as an exhibit to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
