Erica B. Landeros Joins Fiduciary Trust International’s New York Office as Trust Counsel

Global Wealth Management Firm Continues to Expand its New York Headquarters

Fiduciary Trust International, a global wealth manager and wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton, announces that Erica B. Landeros has joined as trust counsel in the firm’s New York office. She will provide clients in the Greater New York region with expertise and guidance on estate planning, advanced tax planning, and trust and estate administration.

“As a seasoned professional, Erica has handled a broad spectrum of wealth planning issues, both from the perspective of the sophisticated client and from that of a corporate fiduciary, and she is a welcome addition to our growing team serving the Greater New York market,” said Anne Fitzpatrick Donahue, regional managing director responsible for Fiduciary Trust International’s New York office. “Erica will help our team continue to strengthen holistic estate and wealth transfer plans, and effectively walk clients through the recommendations and strategies for reaching their goals.”

Ms. Landeros joins Fiduciary Trust International from Bank of America Private Bank in New York, where she was managing director and regional fiduciary advisor in the office of the chief fiduciary. In that position, she was responsible for the review and approval of new fiduciary appointments for high-net-worth clients across multiple regions of the country, and providing client-facing teams with advice, guidance, and training on fiduciary issues and internal procedure. She held an additional role as the point of contact and advisor for international issues affecting trust accounts. Prior to joining the Private Bank, Ms. Landeros (formerly Slezak) was in private practice as a high-net-worth estate planning and administration attorney for over two decades. The foundation of her career was formed in the private clients group of White & Case LLP and personal representation department of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, both in New York, before moving her practice to Nassau County.

“Erica has a strong track record of helping organizations align their fiduciary obligations with their internal operations and processes,” said Leslie Gillin Bohner, chief fiduciary officer of Fiduciary Trust International. “As we grow, we continue to take measures to ensure we effectively deliver the full breadth of our vast offering to clients while adhering to fiduciary obligations.”

Ms. Landeros earned her juris doctor, cum laude from St. John’s University School of Law, where she was a member of the law review, and a bachelor of arts in English from Fordham University. She is a member of numerous committees of the Trusts and Estates section of the New York State Bar Association and a long-time participant in the Surrogate Decision Making Committee program of the New York State Justice Center for People with Special Needs.

Fiduciary Trust International has steadily added professionals to its New York office. In May 2024, Edward J. Mooney joined the firm as its New York-based managing director and financial planning director. Kenneth J. Kito, CFP® also came aboard as a New York-based wealth director in October 2023.
