Ribbon cutting ceremony celebrates new facility and rich history in Central Texas
Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages (CCSWB), the local Coca-Cola bottler for Texas and parts of Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arkansas, opens its new distribution center at 2600 Texas Central Parkway in Waco, Texas on Wednesday, February 12. The 120,000 square-foot facility is designed to enhance CCSWB’s day-to-day operations and services.
The distribution facility holds 10 docks for loading, shipping and receiving products, a secure parking area for staff and has enough warehouse space to house 10 days’ worth of products. CCSWB associates will also enjoy a new 9,000 square-foot office space and a new amenity area for fleet mechanics and cooler services teams.
The new Waco distribution center is the third facility Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages has invested in the past five years. In April 2020, CCSWB opened its state-of-the-art “Northpoint” facility in Houston, Texas. The Coca-Cola bottler also made headlines after announcing plans to upgrade its Fossil Creek bottling plant in Fort Worth, Texas. Each investment CCSWB has made is to address the rapid growth Texas is experiencing.
“Our new facility in Waco will help us meet the growing demand for our products as the population increases among the Central Texas communities we serve,” said Jean Claude Tissot, president at Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages. “CCSWB’s relationship and history in these communities go back many years because we truly love where we live and work.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony marks a new era for the CCSWB Waco team as the local Coca-Cola bottler celebrates 120 years of service in the Waco community. The history of Coca-Cola’s time in Waco is encapsulated in CCSWB’s recently released Under The Cap series. The Waco episode follows Rhonda Dunahoo, business manager at CCSWB, who is a long time Coca-Cola memorabilia collector who is proud to be the unofficial CCSWB historian in Waco.
“It is amazing to be able to highlight our associates who truly have a connection to our local communities. We are not just known for supplying refreshing beverages; we are also known for supplying memories and moments that will last a lifetime,” said Tissot.
