Defenders of Wildlife, the Zinn Education Project, and March For Our Lives all received generous contributions from socially responsible phone company
CREDO Mobile, the progressive mobile phone company, announced today which three indispensable nonprofits received $30,000 in donations generated by its customers in January of 2025. Credo Mobile is the only phone company that lets users generate funds for progressive causes just by using their mobile devices, and awarded each of these organizations the following amounts:
- $12,046 - Defenders of Wildlife protects animals and plants in their natural communities. Up to a million species are facing extinction — some in the next decade! — unless we take immediate action. Defenders works tirelessly to implement innovative solutions that protect endangered species and their habitats.
- $9,587 - The Zinn Education Project introduces students in K-12 classrooms to a more accurate and engaging understanding of history than is found in most textbooks, so they can shape a more just future. More than 168,000 teachers have signed up for lessons and for Teaching for Black Lives study groups across the United States.
- $8,367 - Born out of a tragic school shooting, March For Our Lives is a courageous youth-led movement dedicated to promoting civic engagement, education, and direct action by youth to eliminate the epidemic of gun violence.
“CREDO Mobile users and team members take pride in our one-of-a-kind monthly donations program, and the organizations we support in their fight for a better future,” said Robert Mascola, Donations Manager at CREDO Mobile. “Now more than ever, we are pleased to highlight causes that include preserving our native wildlife, protecting our children from gun violence, and teaching a more equitable and accurate view of US history.”
“Thanks to CREDO member support, we can continue to offer free people's history lessons to 'teach outside the textbook.' More than 168,000 teachers have signed up for lessons and to join our Teaching for Black Lives study groups across the United States,” said teacher, Rethinking Schools editor, and Zinn Education Project Campaign Director Jesse Hagopian.
“Funding from CREDO will help our scientists, lawyers, advocates, and activists protect wildlife in courtrooms and communities across the nation. Now more than ever, we need to be a voice for the animals that cannot speak for themselves,” said Brandy Swimeley, Vice President of Integrated Marketing for Defenders of Wildlife.
