Dr. Johnna Weller, Executive Vice President, Learning Care Group
“Dr. Weller is the heart of our educational vision,” said John Bork, President and Incoming Chief Executive Officer. “Her passion for championing our teachers, her commitment to quality, and her leadership in driving meaningful outcomes for children strengthen our position as an industry leader. I look forward to partnering with her in this expanded role as we continue to build a mission-driven organization centered on learning, care, and connection.”
Dr. Weller will oversee all efforts to ensure high quality engagement and support for educators across the organization. Her work underscores the company’s belief that early childhood education teachers are more than just caregivers, they lay the foundation for lifelong learning.
“I am honored to help lead Learning Care Group into our next chapter,” said Dr. Weller. “Our schools are where children take their first steps, form their first friendships, and begin their lifelong learning journeys. Supporting our teachers in creating these joyful, nurturing environments that shape the academic, social, and emotional development of our children is both a privilege and responsibility I treasure.”
In addition, Sean Sondreal has been appointed to the newly created role of Chief Customer Officer, leading an integrated team focused on delivering seamless and responsive experiences for families – from first inquiry to Pre-K graduation. Sondreal will lead the new Customer Organization which aligns the company’s Marketing and Employee-Sponsored efforts with renewed emphasis on listening, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
The company also announced the promotion of Ryan McKendry to Chief Growth Officer, succeeding Doug Baker, who will retire following nearly eight years of distinguished service. Baker will continue with LCG in an advisory capacity, offering strategic guidance as the organization continues to expand and reinvest in its school portfolio. McKendry brings deep expertise in real estate, corporate development, and partnerships. In addition to continuing to lead the Corporate Development team, McKendry will now oversee LCG’s growth initiatives, including new builds, acquisitions, and portfolio management.
“Doug’s vision and dedication helped lay the groundwork for our national growth strategy, and we are deeply grateful for his leadership,” said Bork. “As we look ahead, these transitions represent a powerful step forward for Learning Care Group—positioning us to stay deeply connected to the families we serve, the communities we support, and the team members who bring our mission to life every day. I am excited for the journey ahead and grateful for the dedication of this team as we build our future.”
