LOS ANGELES, CA - Viral rapper and content creator Robbie Tripp recently announced via Instagram to his worldwide following that he has been named a “Top 5 Artist of 2023” on Billboard.com, in a list published online by the popular American music and entertainment magazine in October.
The Las Vegas-based personality celebrated the accomplishment with his caption that began: “Forget everyone who doubted me. @billboard.” Tripp’s most recent headline comes after a banner year in his music career that saw him collaborate with major artists such as BlocBoy JB and superproducer Andrew Dawson, best known for his Grammy Award-winning albums as Kanye West’s longtime producer and mixing engineer. Tripp, also known to his audience as the “Vanilla Thriller”, released seven singles and six music videos in 2023, creating a wave of momentum that landed him on Billboard.com for the success of his viral creative projects.
Robbie Tripp is perhaps best known for his viral single “Big Girl Banger”, a body positive anthem that went viral on TikTok with over 320 million views alone on the song’s official hashtag. The feel-good bop celebrates women of all shapes and sizes, and began a viral trend of curvy and plus-size women dancing and celebrating their body confidence on the popular video-sharing app.
Known for his viral visuals accompanying each release, Tripp produces and directs his music videos under his independent media/production company Desert Money. Despite the success of his music and videos online, Tripp says he is committed to remaining independent and building Desert Money into a “crescendo of creative content creation.” To date, Tripp’s catalog of 21 songs and 18 music videos continue to receive millions of plays on Spotify, as well as millions of views on YouTube, respectively.
The polarizing artist has made waves online over the years with projects featuring RiFF RAFF, Dizzy Wright, and Grammy Award-winning producer Jahlil Beats among his list of noted collaborators.
