The Bronx OPWDD Pediatric Home Care: Compassionate Support Services Announced

Amelia Home Care has announced the availability of their full range of services to anyone enrolled in the OPWDD program in The Bronx.

-- Bronx-area provider Amelia Home Care has recently announced their partnership with OPWDD (Office for People With Developmental Disabilities), the primary source of disability resources for New York residents. Those enrolled in the OPWDD program will now be able to access their full range of managed care services at little to no cost.

As per the announcement, this partnership allows families to enroll in both in-home and inpatient care programs through a flexible program built around the needs of the individual. Amelia Home Care has been providing these services for nearly 10 years, and are eager to expand their accessibility to OPWDD enrollees in The Bronx.

Among the available services are managed care for pediatric and elderly disability patients, administered by the expert team at Amelia Home Care. They offer a compassionate care model designed to provide relief to caregivers while also supporting and uplifting those most in need of emotional and material support.

“Amelia Home Care has been a blessing for our family,” said the parent of one pediatric home care patient. “The self-direction services helped my son, Daniel, gain the independence he always wanted.”

One recent addition to the program is the ability of patients to receive career support through the OPWDD and, by extension, through Amelia Home Care. The Office now offers resources specifically designed to help those with limited mobility and cognitive impairments meet their employment goals and achieve fulfillment in their careers.

Managed care is available for patients with severe ADHD, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability, chronic respiratory disorders, and other conditions.

Patients preparing to apply for aid through the Amelia Home Care program must first submit a detailed record of the patient’s diagnosis, including medication history, to the team for review. The information will be used to develop a custom care program that meets that patient's emotional, physical, and medical needs.

Enrollment in the OPWDD program is conducted through regional offices located throughout New York. Consult the link below for more information regarding available resources and the enrollment process.
