PRLog - May 23, 2015 - WASHINGTON -- The Association of Adult Musicians with Hearing Loss (AAMHL) will present its first benefit concert on Friday, May 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 945 G St. NW, Washington, DC.

The Association is pleased to highlight performances by five talented musicians from across the US, representing an array of musical genres encompassing classical guitar, violin, clarinet, piano, and voice. Each performer brings a wealth of professional credentials having performed on both the national and international stage, as well as being featured in various industry publications and national broadcasts. Each has been widely hailed for his or her ability to compose, collaborate, and perform at an elite level despite the obvious and daunting challenges of significant innate or acquired hearing loss. Concert performers are: Charles Mokotoff, guitar; Jennifer Castellano, piano; Albert Hunt, clarinet; Stephen Shey, violin and Mandy Harvey, jazz voice.

The event is the first of its kind in the Washington, DC metro area and is part of a 2-day conference for individuals and communities engaged in fostering the performance and appreciation of music by and for deaf and hard of hearing persons.

Tickets to the concert are $20 for adults/$10 for youth aged 10-17, and may be purchased at the door or at http://aamhlconcert2015.brownpapertickets.com.

The Association was founded in 2001 by Maryland resident Wendy Cheng. It has grown to comprise over 500 individuals from around the United States and about 10 foreign countries.
