State auditor: ESD shared inaccurate figures on vast unemployment insurance fraud losses, recoveries

Staff from the office of State Auditor Pat McCarthy found state ESD officials paid out more fraudulent claims than they admitted, and recovered almost $100 million less than they publicly said they had — and McCarthy says she's still learning about exactly what happened.
