He then went on to earn his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in 1990, after which he performed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Emory Hospital in 1994, serving as chief resident and the best house office.

Specializing in women's health, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women's health.

Serving as the Co-Chair of the Northside Perinatal Services Committee, Dr. Sharon is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

In the state of Georgia, he is affiliated with Northside Hospital Atlanta, Northside Hospital Cherokee, and Northside Hospital Forsyth.
