This year’s recipient is a Navy Veteran, Raymond Hayward, that has been taking care of his terminally ill late wife, works as a bus driver for older adults and is a substance abuse counselor. His sister has said that he’s always prioritized others around him more than himself and this let his teeth and oral health become in disrepair. This year he has received a new smile for Veteran’s Day, that will not just light up his face, but will also lead to a healthier mouth and happier lifestyle.
During a recent interview, Dr. Brett Shigley of Magnolia Falls was quoted as saying, “All of us at Magnolia Falls were very happy to help Mr. Hayward because he really deserved it. Also, he was not eligible for dental care at the VA and living on social security so he had a very tight fixed monthly budget. All in one day we were able to remove all of the bad teeth, place 10 dental implants and restore a full set of teeth for Mr. Hayward.”
