My Body My Life Launches New Fitness Program for Middle-Aged Women

By: Get News
The 16-week program helps women focus on fitness and wellness, regardless of body size or shape.

My Body My Life, a food and fitness website, has launched Women in Motion, a revolutionary program for women in midlife who want to get lean, fit and strong without crazy diets or unrealistic exercise. It was part of a research study that found significant improvements in blood pressure, BMI and self-efficacy for physical activity.

The program’s goal is not weight loss but all-around fitness so that women have the strength to do the things they want. It helps build upper body and core strength so that they can lift their grandchild or climb a mountain — whatever they want to achieve with themselves and their loved ones.

The program uses a holistic approach to health and provides support and accountability while clients work toward fitness and nutrition goals. It helps women create an active lifestyle and a healthy, realistic and sustainable way of eating.

The program was developed at Colorado State University by Dr. Cindy Dallow. It has proven results for helping women lower blood pressure, increase fitness and become more confident in maintaining an active lifestyle.

Cindy is a registered dietitian nutritionist with a Ph.D. in nutrition from Colorado State University. She is also a certified intuitive eating counselor, five-time Ironman finisher and marathon runner.

“We believe healthy and fit bodies come in all shapes and sizes. We also know too many women believe they need to be thin to be healthy or fit, and that is not the case. Don’t put your life on hold any longer. Let us help you live your best life now,” shared Dr. Cindy Dallow.

Participants of Women in Motion receive a customized strength and fitness plan with daily support and accountability to keep them on track. The plan was created by Dr. Kurt Dallow, a sports medicine and family physician with more than 30 years of experience.

Women in Motion also introduces a new way of thinking about weight and health. My Body My Life’s philosophy believes that healthy bodies come in all shapes and sizes and that weight loss is not the only path to optimal health and wellbeing. This program will help participants reject diet culture and develop a healthy relationship to food by honoring hunger, fullness and satisfaction. They will also learn how to meet their body’s specific nutritional needs without dieting or food deprivation.
